American master-designer, Robert Trent Jones, with world class
reputation, said his course concept for the initial 18 holes at
Yalong Bay Golf Club was designed to create a links land hampionship resort course. Through his plan, the gentle rolling terrain was transformed by use of native sands mimicking the natural dunes of several hundred years ago. The lakes and marsh areas were created to catch rainfall run-off which aid in helping to build and maintain an underground aquifer. About 180,000 square meters of native grass and wild flowers were added to help keep the air fresh and also to create a lovely habitat for many birds, fish and other wild life.
